Core Borings

Lee-Simpson Associates, Inc. engineers have extensive background in geotechnical engineering. The firm has provided a variety of technical services that ensure that a site is geologically suited to the type of development being planned.

The usual site investigation includes selective drilling of test holes at predetermined depths, and precise logging of each hole to determine the character of rock or soil. Each logged sample is analyzed by a geologist or certified technician to determine such factors as erosion and drainage properties, stability of embankment, and bearing capacity. Should site materials be unsuitable, they may have to be removed and replaced with materials that offer greater support. In some cases, recommendations may be made for placement of concrete piers, cribbing, or various sizes of construction stone.

Whatever your requirement may be, Lee-Simpson Associates, Inc. engineers and geologists will offer solutions aimed at preventing foundation failures during your next construction project.
